The crime of currency smuggling was arrested by customs officials after it was attempted to be committed at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Pakistan.

According to Deputy Collector Customs, this woman was found with Saudi Riyals and US Dollars amounting to Rs. 1.5 lakhs and hidden in her bags.

After allegedly being guilty of smuggling, the flight attendant was scheduled to leave Lahore for an overseas destination but was offloaded from the aircraft.

To come up with solutions and conduct thorough investigations on the case there has been strict action taken against her by the customs authorities.

Meanwhile; it had been reported that a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant had gone missing in Canada.

The missing flight attendant, Noor Sher, was assigned to flight PK 781 from Islamabad to Toronto.

Sources indicate that a string of alleged disappearances of flight attendants on PIA’s Toronto route continues unabated.

Noor Sher’s absence was noted when he failed to report for his scheduled return flight, raising concerns among the airline staff.

Sources added that the total number of missing staff from the national carrier in Canada has now reached 14.

In March of this year, Canadian authorities arrested a PIA air hostess for carrying multiple passports.

PIA steward Hina Sani, who arrived in Toronto on PK-789, was detained when Canadian immigration authorities discovered multiple passports belonging to different individuals in her baggage.

Another PIA air hostess reached Canada without a passport, causing PIA significant fines.

These incidents reflect long-standing security and procedural challenges faced by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Already under investigation for various operational issues, the airline must now address these security lapses if it is to regain its credibility.

The engagement of airline employees in such activities not only threatens their careers but also raises serious questions about the existing safety rules.

For instance, this shows that the authorities need to be careful and vigilant so that they can curb cases of smuggling and other illegal activities as required.

For this reason, these inquiries are likely to expose additional details and cause heightened security in future.

The recurring incidents involving PIA employees indicate a more serious problem within the airline which should be dealt with urgently to prevent any further breaches.

The airline must therefore enforce strict internal controls, train workers better and coordinate more effectively with international bodies if its operations are to be secure and its image unaffected.
