In a swift response to the recent blockage caused by severe flooding, the Chinese company China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) has restored a temporary route for public use on Mahandri Road.
This quick action has provided much-needed relief to the local community, which had been struggling with the disruption.
The heavy rains had washed away the Mahandri Bridge, a vital link on the Mansehra-Naran road (N-15), leaving many commuters and tourists stranded.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) mobilised efforts promptly, with CGGC’s heavy machinery playing a crucial role in the restoration.
Dr. Sohail Aftab, the NHA spokesperson, mentioned, “The restoration of a pedestrian path in Mahandri Bazar has been a priority. We are working tirelessly to facilitate vehicular movement through the Compact 200 Bridge.”
This temporary solution has enabled commuters to cross the bridge, easing the situation for the affected community.
The flooding has caused widespread damage across northern Pakistan, with several areas under flood warnings.
The restoration of Mahandri Road is a testament to the resilience and determination of the local authorities and the community.
While the temporary bridge offers immediate relief, efforts continue to find long-term solutions to prevent future disruptions.
