Sher Afzal Marwat Rejoins PTI After Jail Meeting with Imran Khan

In a significant political development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sher Afzal Marwat has rejoined the party after a crucial meeting with the incarcerated PTI founder, Imran Khan.

This announcement, which has grabbed headlines, marks Marwat’s return to the PTI fold, following a three-month hiatus.

The meeting, held at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, saw Khan extending a warm welcome to Marwat and discussing various party matters.

Sher Afzal Marwat, a key member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has officially announced his return to the party after a pivotal meeting with PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Marwat expressed his appreciation for Khan’s warm reception and detailed their discussions on various pressing issues facing the party.

In his statement, Marwat revealed that Imran Khan entrusted him with the task of organizing a major public gathering scheduled for August 22.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, PTI’s Chairman, also confirmed Khan’s instructions regarding this significant event, which is expected to showcase the party’s strength and resolve.

Marwat further stated that he is putting his past differences with the party behind him, acknowledging that his previous remarks against PTI leaders were regrettable.

He assured his commitment to organizing peaceful public gatherings, distancing himself from any form of violent protests.

This development comes in the wake of a controversial notification issued by PTI, allegedly suspending Marwat’s party membership.

However, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan dismissed the notification as “fake,” asserting that there was no truth to it.

The notification, endorsed by PTI Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi, had called for Marwat’s resignation from his National Assembly seat if he considered himself an honourable man.

Marwat had previously received a show-cause notice on May 11 for allegedly violating PTI’s code of conduct and policy.

The notice, issued by PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan, demanded an explanation from Marwat within three days, accusing him of making statements that were damaging to the party’s reputation.

With this recent reconciliation, Marwat has reaffirmed his loyalty to PTI and his commitment to supporting Imran Khan’s vision for the party and the country.

This reunion is expected to strengthen PTI’s ranks as it prepares for upcoming political challenges.
