KP Govt To Launch Innovative ‘Taleem Card’ Project

In a groundbreaking move aimed at revolutionizing educational access, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the launch of the ‘Taleem Card’ project.

The initiative is set to commence its pilot phase in Upper Chitral, a decision revealed during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar.

The meeting, attended by key figures including Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Faisal Khan Tarakai and Advisor to the Chief Minister for Finance Muzzammil Aslam, underscored the project’s significance.

Chief Minister Gandapur highlighted the ‘Taleem Card’ as a flagship project designed to facilitate access to quality education for students in backward areas, particularly those from Upper Chitral.

Gandapur emphasized the urgent need for mobilizing resources and preparing the necessary infrastructure to launch the project swiftly. He directed both the education and finance departments to expedite their efforts to ensure a prompt rollout.

The decision to initiate the pilot project in Upper Chitral follows a detailed briefing by Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, who reported on the current situation in the area after a recent glacier outburst.

Chaudhry’s recent visit to the area, conducted under the Chief Minister’s directives, aimed to assess the aftermath of a glacier outburst and its impact on the local population.

The Chief Minister has directed authorities to explore comprehensive solutions for housing and sustainable recovery for those affected by the disaster.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the need for improved educational facilities in remote regions. In response to a promise made to a top-scoring female student from Shangla, the Chief Minister has called for the swift establishment of a new school in her home district.

This step aligns with a commitment made to the top-scoring female student from recent board examinations, who had to travel extensively for private education due to the absence of a local school.

The ‘Taleem Card’ project is poised to be a transformative step towards ensuring equitable access to quality education across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, starting with the underserved regions of Upper Chitral.
