Dubai has welcomed a record 9.31 million international overnight visitors between January and June 2024, marking a 9% increase compared to the 8.55 million arrivals in the same period last year, according to data from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).
Following a successful 2023, when Dubai hosted 17.15 million international visitors, the city has maintained its strong tourism growth.
The rise in visitors in the first half of this year sets the city on course for a record-breaking performance in 2024.
Under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and propelled by DET’s collaborative efforts, the increase in international tourism aligns with the ambitious Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aimed at strengthening Dubai’s status as a premier global business and leisure destination.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, remarked: “Guided by Sheikh Mohammed’s strategic vision, Dubai’s tourism sector continues to demonstrate its robust growth potential and attractive proposition for global travelers.”
Sheikh Hamdan encouraged industry stakeholders to expand partnerships with key markets, explore new opportunities, and enhance Dubai’s value proposition by creating rich and memorable experiences.
