The Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Khan, chaired a monthly gathering of the District Steering Committee on IMU Health, which marks a significant milestone in Battagram’s health sector.
The DMO Health presented an elaborate briefing that consisted of the performance metrics and achievements from last month.
The meeting was also attended by some key health officers such as the District Health Officer (DHO), the Medical Superintendent (MS) of District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) and the DMO Health among other important health staff.
In this meeting, Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Khan stressed the pressing need to tackle health-related problems with immediate strategic actions.
He further emphasized the requirements for doctors’ presence, availability of technical staff and provision of necessary medicines and other medical supplies.
He gave directives to improve service delivery to communities while at the same time emphasizing comprehensive interventions towards overall improvement in healthcare standards.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the critical need to ensure the availability of potable water, proper sanitation, and comprehensive facilities at all health centres.
He urged the health staff to maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure that all facilities are in optimal condition for patient care.
In his speech to the health staff, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized what a noble thing it is to be in a healthcare profession.
To him, physicians are like healers who are at the centre of this society. He urged the medical professionals to do everything possible to serve patients, solve their health problems and contribute positively to the people’s general welfare.
The Deputy Commissioner held that healthcare services had a great responsibility to ensure that there was societal welfare through dedicated service and caring.
Different challenges were discussed during the meeting with strategies on how they could be effectively dealt with being drawn up.
They focused on three areas namely improvement in quality health care delivery system; availability of medicines when needed by patients; and improvement of basic facilities for better health care services.
Health officials worked together towards efficiency, accessibility and dependability in healthcare provision.
