Cristiano Ronaldo, renowned for his exceptional career in football, has now made waves in the digital realm by launching his own YouTube channel, “UR — Cristiano.”
The channel’s debut on August 21 was nothing short of a global event, quickly amassing an unprecedented number of subscribers and earning a Guinness World Record for the most subscribers gained within 24 hours.
This monumental achievement adds yet another accolade to the 39-year-old Al Nassr star’s extensive list of records.
The Guinness World Records organisation confirmed that Ronaldo’s YouTube channel garnered an astonishing 19,729,827 subscribers in its first day alone, a feat that was exclusively revealed this week.
The rapid growth of Ronaldo’s channel is further highlighted by data from WikiTubia, a platform dedicated to tracking YouTube records.
According to the site, Ronaldo’s channel hit 100,000 subscribers within just 22 minutes of its launch, crossed the one million mark in 47 minutes, and reached an incredible 10 million YouTube subscribers in just 11 hours and 31 minutes.
Within a week, the channel had already attracted 50 million subscribers, a staggering testament to Ronaldo’s unparalleled popularity.
This latest accomplishment is not Ronaldo’s first encounter with the Guinness World Records.
He is already recognised as the most followed person on Instagram, boasting 637 million followers, and as the first individual to surpass 500 million followers on the platform in November 2022.
His influence also extends across other social media platforms, with 170 million followers on Facebook and 112 million followers on X (formerly Twitter).
Ronaldo’s impressive Guinness World Records also include his football achievements. In 2021, he set the record for the “most goals scored by a male player in international football,” with 111 goals.
His footballing accolades also feature being the first player to score 100 goals in the UEFA Champions League, the most appearances in the UEFA Champions League with 183, and the most eight times hat-tricks in the UEFA Champions League.
Furthermore, he holds the record for the most goals in the Euros with 14 and is the first male player to score in five different World Cups.
As Ronaldo continues to captivate fans on and off the field, his recent goal during Al-Nassr’s league match on Tuesday night brought him closer to the remarkable milestone of 900 career goals, further solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest athletes in history.
