Prince William to Make New Public Appearance After Holidaying with Princess Kate

Prince William is poised to make his first public appearance after his summer retreat with Princess Kate Middleton, as confirmed by Kensington Palace.

The Prince of Wales, aged 42, will grace the Saatchi Gallery on Thursday, September 5, to explore Homelessness: Reframed, an insightful exhibition that delves into the multifaceted nature of homelessness.

This much-anticipated visit marks the beginning of William’s public engagements following a serene holiday at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, where he, Princess Kate Middleton, and their children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—relish in family time.

At the Saatchi Gallery, Prince William will engage with artists whose contributions to the exhibition shed light on homelessness, as well as individuals with first-hand experiences of this critical issue.

The exhibition, crafted in collaboration with the Homewards programme—an initiative launched by William in June 2023—alongside the Saatchi Gallery and Eleven Eleven Foundation, aims to challenge and reshape societal perceptions of homelessness.

Homelessness: Reframed is thoughtfully divided into three sections. The first, titled Invisible Words, showcases an array of signs created by those experiencing homelessness around the globe.

These signs poignantly express a spectrum of emotions, from despair and shame to resilience and hope.

The second section, Reframed, features artwork from acclaimed artists like Marc Quinn, Dave Tovey, Simone Brewster, and poet Surfing Sofas, each offering a unique perspective on homelessness.

A highlight of the exhibition will be Prince William’s interaction with renowned photographer Rankin, who collaborated with Homewards to capture powerful portraits of nine individuals who have lived through homelessness.

The exhibition’s final section, Open Doors, will present doors crafted by children from the six Homewards locations—Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland, and Sheffield—symbolizing the various pathways to ending homelessness.

During this visit, the prince will also meet young participants from Creative Kids, a charity based in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, who contributed to one of the creative workshops.

This engagement not only underscores Prince William’s commitment to addressing homelessness but also highlights the impactful work of the Homewards programme in fostering a deeper understanding of this pressing issue.
