Govt Launches New Pink Bus Services in Islamabad For Female Students and Teacher

Under the directive of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has launched an innovative pink bus services named “No Fare No Barrier” in Islamabad.

This initiative aims to enhance the public transportation system, particularly focusing on easing the commute from rural to urban areas.

The new service will deploy 20 pink buses across various routes, primarily serving female teachers and students.

The objective is to provide a reliable and free transportation option, thereby removing the barriers of fare and accessibility.

Designated Routes and Schedules:

  1. Route 1-A: Nilore to F-11/1 FGCH&E&MS
  2. Route 1-B: Nilore (Ziarat Stop) to Secretariat
  3. Route 2-A: Bhara Kau to F-11/1 FGCH&E&MS (via F-6)
  4. Route 2-B: Bhara Kau to F-11/1 FGCH&E&MS (via G-6)
  5. Route 3-A: Humak to Secretariat
  6. Route 3-B: Humak to F-11/1 FGCH&E&MS
  7. Route 4-A: I-14 (IJP Road) to Secretariat
  8. Route 4-B: I-14 (IJP Road) to F-11/1 FGCH&E&MS
  9. Route 5-A: B-17 to Secretariat (via Margalla Avenue)
  10. Route 5-B: B-17 to Secretariat (via GT Road, G-14)

These buses will operate during school hours, specifically from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the morning and from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in the afternoon.

This scheduling is strategically designed to ensure minimal waiting times for female teachers and students, aligning perfectly with their school routines.

The introduction of this service represents a significant step towards improving public transportation in Islamabad, promoting gender inclusivity, and enhancing the daily commute for women from rural regions to urban centers.
