Pakistan’s passport remains one of the weakest globally, ranking 4th from the bottom in the Henley Passport Index 2024.
It’s just a notch above Iraq, Syria & Afghanistan, as per Tuesday’s latest rankings. Tied with Yemen, Pakistan sits at the 100th spot out of 103 positions.
This isn’t new – back in January, it also held the fourth-worst passport spot worldwide.
On the flip side, Singapore’s still king of the hill with a mobility score of 195 (that’s the number of countries its citizens can visit visa-free).
France, Germany, Italy, Japan & Spain are nipping at its heels, sharing second place with access to 192 destinations.
The UK’s not far behind, landing in fourth place with visa-free entry to 190 nations. Now, let’s talk about this Henley Passport Index.
It’s the brainchild of Henley & Partners, a London-based advisory firm specializing in global citizenship and residence.
They track worldwide freedoms using exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association.
This index is HUGE – it covers 199 different passports and 227 travel destinations. That’s a LOT of stamps! The UAE’s been climbing the ranks.
It’s now in 9th place, up from 11th earlier this year. It’s rubbing shoulders with Lithuania and Estonia, boasting visa-free access to 185 countries.
Not too shabby! Canada’s sitting pretty in 7th place (187), while the US is right behind in 8th with a mobility score of 186.
India, Tajikistan & Senegal are in a three-way tie for 82nd place, with visa-free access to 58 countries. And let’s not forget Bahrain, Oman, and China – they’re hanging out at 57, 58 & 59, respectively.
